This seminar examines the power of the “subtextual” conversation—body language, vocal patterns, and mannerisms that can raise or lower one’s status in the workplace. Based on 20 years of research, SpeechSkills' Cara Hale Alter will outline explicit “codes of conduct” for projecting credibility in all your face-to-face interactions from networking, to inner office communication, to meetings with opposing counsel, to courtroom interactions.
We’ll also examine the power of “snap judgments,” and the responsibility of the attorney to be aware of the non-verbal aspects of communication. We’ll address ways of using non-verbal communication to 1) develop Attorney/Client trust, 2) demonstrate strength and confidence when interacting with opposing counsel and in the courtroom, and 3) become “neutral to the message” so that content takes precedence over delivery style.
