Connie Brenton serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Legal Operations at NetApp Inc. Connie leverages her legal and business experience to foster continuous improvement in the NetApp legal department, which has been recognized internationally for its innovation in the areas of strategic vision, use of technology, new staffing/sourcing solutions, partner and financial management, efficiency gains and world-class operating metrics. She also founded the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC).

Prior to NetApp, Connie served as Senior Director, Deputy General Counsel at Sun Microsystems and Managing Counsel at Oracle where she also initiated the Legal Operations role. Before joining the corporate legal community, Connie practiced law as a civil litigator.

Connie actively develops and promotes the Legal Operations role throughout the legal community and the business world at large. In addition to founding CLOC, she served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the CLOC Board, growing membership from 40 to 2,500 in three years. Connie also co-founded the Community of Legal Interns (CLI), which she helped grow to 1,000 members in its first year. She speaks and publishes on topics including the changing legal ecosystem, legal operations, and “Running Legal like a Business.”

Connie holds a JD, an MBA and a BA in Economics. Her work has garnered her several honors and awards, including the 2019 GC Powerlist, Corporate Counsel's National Women in Law in 2018, 100 Women of Influence in Silicon Valley for 2014, and the Top 10 Deputy General Counsel in 2012.
