Mark Harris is the CEO of Knowable –– a machine learning powered business that transforms legal language into structured contract data. Knowable was spun from Axiom in 2019 and now is an independent company with Joint Venture backing from Lexis Nexis.

Mark is one of the co-founders of Axiom. He served as Axiom’s Executive Chairman from 2017-2019 and was the Company’s CEO from 2000-2016.

Mark is often referenced as an industry disruptor: Andrew Ross Sorkin of the New York Times wrote that Mark is "rewriting the law firm business model,” The Financial Times has recognized him as a "top ten agent for change," and Forbes has called him a "name you need to know.” Mark is a past recipient of The Financial Times Lifetime Achievement Award, Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year award, and Harvard Law School’s Professional Excellence Award.

Prior to founding Axiom, Mark practiced law at Davis Polk & Wardwell and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received both his BA and JD from the University of Texas where he served as President of the Texas Cowboys Honorary Service Organization. He is a 2013 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
