Shaping Change

Doug Ray has been shaping change for decades. Doug received an A. B. In Physics from Kalamazoo College, a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and shaped change for many years as a research scientist and leader at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Doug is an elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Doug is a recognized authority on decarbonizing the global energy system and the environmental consequences of energy production and use. Currently Doug is trying to inspire and shape change in our energy system via smart climate action at the state and national levels as Chair of the Board of Directors of Carbon Washington: a small, scrappy, non-partisan non-profit focused on achieving net-zero carbon emissions in Washington state and a prosperous, healthy future for all, and as an active member of the Citizen’s Climate Lobby.
