Catherine is the author of "Business Thinking in Practice for In-House Counsel: Taking Your Seat at The Table" (Globe Law & Business 2020). The book, focuses on the business of law for legal departments has received numerous accolades. Catherine is a Chartered Management Consultant, an accreditation which is the highest that can be achieved in the Management Consulting industry in the UK. Her company, Catherine McGregor Research, consults to law firms and legal departments around the world. Her work focuses on a range of areas including business thinking and law; the future of law; human centered business skills; leadership; inclusion and diversity.

Before launching her company, Catherine served as Managing Editor at Chambers and Partners, the renowned legal directory, and as founding editor of GC Magazine. She is currently the editor of Modern Lawyer which focuses on ideas, opinions, learning and creativity for legal leaders. Catherine has a Ph.D and was a lecturer at universities in the UK and USA, including the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston.
