Rashid is in his final year of law school at Southern University Law Center. While in law school, Rashid has served as law clerk and research assistant to the General Counsel of the Southern University System and as a Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus Fellow. In the summer of 2019, Rashid lived in Silicon Valley, CA and worked for NetApp in their corporate legal department. Rashid was recognized in the Southern University Law Center publication and the Chancellor's report for his work at NetApp. Through a partnership with NetApp, Penn State Law, and Southern University Law Center, Rashid was a part of a team that received the prestigious Leading Edge Prize from Wolters Kluwer. Rashid also received the Cali Award for Excellence in Constitutional Law II.

In addition to his legal pursuits, Rashid is a finance and operations leader in public education. Rashid's career in education started in his hometown, Homer, Louisiana, where he was a high school science teacher. He rose through the education ranks quickly. By the time he was 29 years old, he would be named the founding Chief Operations Officer of Lincoln Preparatory School in Grambling, LA. Rashid later served as CEO and Head of School at a Baton Rouge charter school and Education Consultant for the Louisiana Department of Education. He is now a Project Manager for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System where he works with federal programs, grants, and fiscal operations.

Rashid has also been a leader in his community. Some of his work has involved hosting sports camps for the youth, being a regular contributor to various community initiatives, and hosting voter registration drives. He is called on regularly to speak and has been the keynote speaker at numerous events across the State of Louisiana.

Rashid is a graduate of Arkansas Baptist College where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree.
